Past visits of talented Public Schools students and teachers at this time of year to bring in the Christmas cheer have always been most welcomed by customers and staff.(File photo)

Pond Island – Music teachers and their talented students will be visiting TelEm Group’s main building on Pond Island Friday morning to bring in some Christmas cheer to customers and staff.

The students have become an annual fixture at this time of year, featuring their musically talented peers in the public schools. In the past, the students, along with their teachers, have performed on various instruments such as guitar, keyboard, xylophone as well as giving a display of their vocal skills with solo and choir performances.

In the spirit of Christmas, staff are encouraged to visit the lobby area between 8:30 am and 9:15 am Friday morning, to listen to what the young performers have on show this Christmas as they visit TelEm Group and other business establishments in the Philipsburg area.

TelEm Group Manager, Marketing & Sales, Mrs. Grisha Heyliger, says staff should come along with their best singing voices to accompany the students and their teachers if they feel so inspired for a “sing-spirational” start to their day.

Friday’s visit is being arranged under the umbrella of the Music Enhancement Committee (MEC), a group of music teachers who are part of the Division of Public Education, and also fall under the St. Maarten Parents Teachers Foundation.

Also full of praise for TelEm Group and CEO, Mr. Kendall Dupersoy, was MEC President, Mrs. Rosemary Marsham-Hodge said it is the group’s aspiration to further develop their music program in the different public schools, and contributing to that success is their annual visit out into the community of St. Maarten to showcase their students.
