Animal Welfare Foundation founder (AWF), Kathy Deher, (center) and a pet friend (Castertroy) came to the TelEm Group building Friday to receive spent number plates of TelEm Group workers.

Pond Island – Things are looking a little brighter for St. Maarten’s stray and needy animals following a kind donation of used motor vehicle number plates by TelEm Group workers,

The spent number plates were collected by staff of the Marketing & Sales, Human Resources & Development Department and Purchasing Department during the month of March, after circulating a message to staff to give up their old personal number plates.

Old TelEm Group vehicle numbers were also included in the donated batch.

“We ended with total count of 160 plates that we donated to the Animal Welfare Foundation on behalf of TelEm Group staff,” said coordinator of the project, Cheryl Rismay.

Cheryl said the Foundation’s founder, Kathy Deher, was most grateful for the donation and wanted the group to thank staff of her behalf. Kathy said the plates would be used to raise funds to help St. Maarten animals in need.

“The Foundation was very appreciative and we also want to add our thanks to staff for making the extra effort to help,” said Cheryl.
